Planting Plans for Courtyards

Sutherland Shire

A courtyard planting plan provides clear, plant-led direction for shaping or refreshing an existing courtyard without committing to a full makeover.

This service focuses on thoughtful plant selection, layout, and long-term success — working with the conditions of your courtyard and how you actually use the space. Rather than redesigning the structure of the garden, planting plans refine and strengthen what’s already there.

It’s an ideal option if you want a cohesive, considered garden but prefer to implement the planting yourself, at your own pace.

Planting Plan one bed example

Thoughtful planting plans designed to suit your space, your lifestyle, and the way you actually live in your garden.

A planting plan is ideal if you want clarity and direction without committing to a full garden overhaul. It’s a considered, practical approach to creating a garden that feels balanced, beautiful, and manageable — one that grows with you over time.

Each plan is tailored specifically to your space. I take into account sunlight, soil, aspect, existing plants, and how you use your garden day-to-day.

Whether you’re starting from scratch or refreshing an existing space, the focus is always on planting that makes sense for you.

What this service doesn't include

This section helps ensure we’re on the same page before we begin.

  • This service does not include physical labour or installation unless arranged separately.

  • It does not include construction, landscaping works, or hardscaping.

  • Plant supply and materials are not included unless discussed in advance.

  • Ongoing maintenance is not included, but can be arranged separately if needed.

If your courtyard needs layout changes, removal of existing elements, or significant reworking, a courtyard garden makeover may be more appropriate — this can be discussed during an initial conversation.

Who this is for

This service is ideal for anyone wanting to refresh their garden without committing to a full redesign. It’s perfect for enhancing what’s already there — adding softness, structure, and cohesion through thoughtful planting choices.

A planting plan is well suited if you:

  • Want a clear vision before investing in plants or changes

  • Prefer to carry out the work yourself, at your own pace

  • Need guidance to refine or improve an existing garden

  • Are looking for a low-maintenance, considered approach that still feels layered and intentional

This option is about working with what you have and helping your garden feel more balanced, functional, and aligned with how you live.

A grounded approach

My approach is practical, flexible, and shaped by real experience. I focus on creating gardens that suit your space, your lifestyle, and the level of care you want to give — choosing plants that will settle in well and grow comfortably over time.

The aim is to create something that feels lived-in and natural, rather than overly styled or high-maintenance. A garden that works with you, not against you.

If you’re looking for a calm, considered way to shape your garden, a planting plan is often the ideal place to start.
